Events

The squad decide to have a look at the south western mountain, so see if they can find anything to help them in there search of the Lake, they first attempt to climb over the edge of the caldera, to get to the plain below, but realized as they go closer to the edge of that the slope when almost vertical, so they decide, to go out the way they entered the caldera, and then go round it.

They reached the mouth of the caldera by night fall, so camped the night there. In the morning they started to go round the caldera, having travelled for about 3 hours, they came upon a large depression in the ground, its bottom, was below the level of the caldera, and from there vantage point looked like it might have water and plants, at the bottom, they decide to go into it, and investigate. It was a long an dangerous walk down the scree slop, to get to the bottom, as they got close to the bottom they realized that the water (if it was water), was more blackish/brown than they had expected. As they reached the end of the scree slope, Filthy used a stick he had to test the ground at the bottom, and his stick sunk into the ground, and was very difficult to pull out.

The squad decide to go round the edge on the scree slope hoping to find some solid ground leading into the center. but after going almost 2/3 of the way round, they no path, but they do find a trapped Grizzly Mastodon They spend 15 minutes thinking of ways to pull the Mastodon out of the (Quick Sand), but eventually decide that there is no way they do it, so they use the Rocket Launcher to put the Mastodon out of its misery.

They then begin the long climb back up the scree slope towards the mountain. The reach the end of the scree slope just after night falls, and camp there, until the following morning.

The squad then marches up the side the mountain, as they climb they still see large birds circling the mountain, but they seem to take no notice of the squad. Once they read the summit of the mountain they see there is a creator at the top. Filthy climbs down into the creator to see what the bottom is made of. As he climbs down he becomes aware of noxious smells, emanating from the bottom, and it seems warmer in the creator than outside. The bottom of the creator is solid but covered with a layer of fine ash. Filthy climbs back out to report to the rest of the squad.

The squad decide it is not safe to stay on the mountain, so climb down and continue there travels around the caldera.
